Lassithi Plateau Tour

Lassithi Plateau Tour

Lassithi Plateau- Zeus Cave - Kera

We will begin our tour heading up to the mountains and discover the famous Plateau of Lassithi with its windmills, ditches and traditional villages, where life seemed to be frozen.

On the way we will visit one of the most famous convents of Crete – Kera Kardiotissa located in a picturesque and quiet place. Here you will hear the legend of the miraculous icon and admire the extraordinary frescoes of great artistic and historical value.

Next stop we will make in the village of Psychro – traditional pottery center of Crete. Local craftsmen keep and transmit their knowledge and skills from generation to generation for many centuries. Here you will see how to create a beautiful Greek amphorae and, if you wish, you can make one by yourself. Here we will also visit the mysterious Dictean Cave, considered the birthplace of the main Olympic god Zeus.

After the cave we will visit Dzermiado village, characterized by its natural beauty, breathtaking views and traditional architecture. Here you can take photos of the beautiful landscapes, have lunch or just relax in one of the numerous authentic taverns located in this area.
